EUROWOOD NV has evolved into a specialist in the sector when it comes to drying European oak. The knowledge of drying has been passed on from generation to generation in our family business.
We do everything possible to let the wood dry in the best possible conditions. The heads are treated with paraffin (or similar product) to avoid head cracks. To protect the fresh sawn wood from sun and rain, it is stored in our covered storage location.
We have kilns with a capacity of + – 450 m³ where we dry the oak slowly and in a controlled manner, with the emphasis on slow drying to avoid discoloration. Standard, we dry until a level of 8/10% is reached (thicknesses 3/4 and 4/4), even up to 6% on request.
