RECYCLED WOOD AS ENERGY
In addition to the PEFC certification, we try to reduce our carbon footprint as much as possible. Both the drying kilns and the office space are heated with wood waste. This way, all our wood waste is recycled. EUROWOOD NV has an electrostatic fine dust filter to reduce fine dust emissions from wood combustion as much as possible. By installing an electrostatic particulate filter, wood as an energy source is an environmentally friendly and renewable solution. The electrostatic filer is a state of the art filter, made in Switzerland by the company Oekosolve.
In comparison with other fossil fuels, wood is CO2 neutral and renewable. What does the term CO2 mean neutral? To grow, a tree needs CO2 and sunlight. The CO2 acts as a fuel for the growth. When the wood is burned, this amount of CO2 is released again. This process happens also when the tree is dying naturally, so burning wood does not produce more CO2.
ENERGY OF THE FUTURE
Wood as a renewable fuel and energy carrier is becoming more important and creates a circular economy.
